14 Acres is a private estate of three luxury lodges on the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire border, ten minutes from Market Harborough. Booked together the three lodges sleep up to 19 guests, which makes them some of the most practical wedding accommodation in Northamptonshire for a party who would rather not split everyone across a chain hotel.

Please note that 14 Acres is not a licensed wedding venue and we do not host ceremonies, receptions or parties. What the estate does well is the rest of the weekend: somewhere private and quiet for the wedding party to get ready, gather the night before and recover the morning after. Each lodge has its own kitchen, terrace and gas BBQ. A private chef can cook across the weekend, in-lodge spa and massage treatments can be booked, and housekeeping runs daily. Take a single lodge, or book exclusive use of the whole estate for the full wedding party.

Making a Weekend of Your Countryside Wedding

Most parties arrive the day before and stay on afterwards. There is plenty within a short drive to fill the rest of the weekend:

Walk the estate: 14 acres of scenic walks, a tree-lined lake and plenty of wildlife. A good way to clear heads on the morning after.
Kelmarsh Hall: an elegant 18th-century manor with famous dahlia gardens, open April to September and a short drive from the estate.
The Farmer's Kitchen, Farndon Fields: seasonal menus, award-winning sausages and honey-cured bacon. Their farmer's breakfast is the obvious morning-after plan.
The Bull's Head, Clipston: a classic country pub in the village serving locally sourced dishes and real ales. Walkable for a relaxed night before.
Foxton Locks: the largest canal lock staircase in the country, with a good pub and a small museum, 15 minutes from the estate.
Pitsford Reservoir: sailing, walking and picnics 20 minutes away, and an easy outing for guests arriving early.
Brampton Valley Way: a former railway line with tunnels to explore on foot or by bike, popular with younger guests.

The Cottage - Wedding Accommodation for Couples

Sleeps 4 - one superking bedroom

The smallest of the three lodges and the quietest. One superking bed that splits into two singles, plus a sofa bed, so it suits a couple or the parents of the wedding party. Full kitchen, washer and dryer, and an outdoor dining deck with a Weber gas BBQ. See The Cottage.

Take the whole estate on one booking and all 14 acres are yours. Three separate lodges mean each couple or family keeps their own front door and privacy, while the grounds, terraces and BBQ areas give everyone somewhere to gather.
